Gosh. What a week. It’s times like this, when we celebrate and reflect, that I really see and feel the power of keeping on blogging. And especially the power of growing a blog community, that is YOU. Please indulge me a little in this anniversary issue, as we celebrate, give thanks and announce our new Scoop Sub intern program.
It’s been another very successful year of blogging at the Scoop Nutrition press office. We were blown away to be named Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Blog of the Month in May and be asked to speak at the Problogger conference in Brisbane. And I get such a chuckle out of being quoted in mainstream media now as a “blogger” rather than a
Gen X “dietitian”. How ACE epic is that? And bumping into lovely readers, supporters and social media community, like at our launch this week of Healthy BYTe (see below).
And I seem to keep on
flogging spreading the social media positivity far and wide and encourage other APDs to take up the keyboard, speaking at conferences for Dietitians New Zealand and Sports Dietitians Australia. And even though I certainly can’t take credit for it, the numbers are growing! Check out our A to Z listing of Australian Dietitian and Nutrition Bloggers and let us know in the comments if we’re missing you or your listing needs a tweak?
This week Scoop Nutrition consulting is very excited to announce our partnership with Bright Young Things Event Makers – jump over to read about this bespoke catering service in this post by Cheryl on Busi Chic. That’s a rare selfie of me on the Right and dietitian Heidi Sze from Apples Under My Bed on the left, who is one of the presenters at our blogging workshop at the 2014 Dietitians Association of Australia conference.
Bringing………… you more fantastic dietitians and nutritionists, thanks for the wonderful posts to the past years contributors Kasey Bateup, Dr Tim Crowe, Deb Blakley, Amy Bowe, Joe Leech, Camilla Ferraro (who also interned with us), Dea Krismarietta, Holly Harris, Nickie Hursthouse, Dr Karen Campbell, Blake Robinson, Caitlin Reid, Nikki Boswell, Natalie Edwards (my 2013 APD mentee), Felicity Curtain, Sharon Brooks, Dr Alan Barclay, Jess MacPhie, Hannah Gilbert (my 2012 APD mentee), Brett Parker, Jade Ashby, Sally Baumann, Elisa Rossimel, Karen Kingham, Dr Flavia Fayet-Moore, Gemma Critchley, and Sharon Curtain.

Helping…others and using social media for social good by supporting organisations and causes we believe in like Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Day, World Vision Blogger Ambassador program, Oz Harvest, Fair Share, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, World Blog Action Day and Pozible grants, like those by Deakin University nutrition team.
Supporting…..dietitians and nutritionists on their social media journey and especially students, to have a go with the right kind of mentoring advice in our Sub of the Month program. After nearly three years and 33 months of mentoring 33 outstanding individuals, we are a little sad to say, it’s time to move on. We are moving to a very exciting 6 month internship platform with only 6 places at a time. This will allow us to do more team work projects in the spirit of community and grow some exciting new things for you lovely readers.
Plus keep me young at heart and current. If you think you may love Scoop Nutrition as much as we do and you’re interested to hear more about the internship download: Scoop Sub Intern Application 280214. Applications close Tuesday 11 March.
