Can you believe it’s been a year since The Scoop on Nutrition launched? What an amazing time we’ve had bringing you the latest and greatest in-credible nutrition news. It’s time to celebrate, give thanks and share with you all the great moments, in case you missed any along the way.
And the experts are….
It’s been so wonderful introducing you to Accredited Practising and Registered Dietitians and students. In 2011 we look forward to more posts from our team, plus introducing you to many more contributors and guest posts from dietitians around the globe. Many thanks to Tracy Morris, Karen Inge, Sue Radd, Frances Gilham, Jane Read, Teri Lichtenstein, Caitlin Reid, Nabeelah Khan, Catherine Saxelby, Sally Johnston, Karen Kingham, Lisa Simpson, Rebecca Subbiah of Chow and Chatter and Mel Haynes for their expertise and insightful posts. And of course we loved all the expertise you added in the comments and feedback.
Hard hitting headlines
We’ve also had fun finding out what you want to read about along the way. We know you like to hear the low down on new products and trends like our popular post on Coconut Water: our must read nutrition review before you go troppo or Trouble eating your greens: you need The Vegetable Butcher. You also love practical tips and help deciphering what’s best in the crowded world of food and nutrition advice, like our post How do I say healthy when I’m just so busy? And you have an opinion to share and like debate, which is great, as we see in posts like Curbing junk food: shock tactics or join em?. Plus our post on Tap vs. bottled water for good health: are you being a drip? nearly got me in hot water with the anti-fluoride (personal attack) comments . And our first post kicked off with Jamie Oliver making waves in the USA with his TED video speech, Doing it for the kids. You love our video posts too, so we have more planned with some better lighting and audio: Downsize your crockery and save big time that was even “liked” on facebook by Dr Brian Wansink himself. But by far the most popular post was written by the mini-me dietitian in our team, my daughter Miss 8 (a rare glimpse right with Master 6): Must have cookbooks for kids: roadtested and reviewed by an eight year old. We absolutely love your feedback, so please keep the comments and “likes” coming. Or drop us an idea for a post or question here on our contact page.

We’ve been recognised and written up too. Thanks for the support Bridget Davis – The Internet Chef who interviewed us for Just one question and Blogger advertising network Nuffnang, who made us featured blogger in October 2010. Plus the mentions in blogger round ups by Trevor Young’s PR Warrior and the September issue of the PR Report. We’ve enjoyed guest posting and collaborating with other bloggers too, special thanks to Catherine Saxelby of Foodwatch for all the fun we had with Quorn and Robyn Webb of Fabulous Food Finds as well as LittleStomaks, GI News , Money Saving Meals and The Food Coach. Most impotantly we became a proud member of the Nutrition Blog Network – Powered by dietitians.
Hot off the press
We have a brand new e-newsletter design, so sign up to get all posts by email as well as special stop press announcements. Click on the envelope symbol on the top right of the page under connect or sign-up below. Our facebook page is growing too, with added news bites & your views, so make sure you “like” it. Plus I’d love you to follow and chat with me on Twitter. With so much nutrition misinformation out there, we have loads more to do, but I hope you agree that the hard work has been worth it and join me to celebrate our first year. Hip hip hooray!
