Don’t you love it when the planets align? I was getting set to teach food chemistry pracs this week and our key recipe is traditional moussaka plus a vegan, gluten free version too. And as I got the raw cashews ready to soak to make vegan cheese, it got me thinking about our recent #eatkit chat on serving up family meals for kids with dietitian Karen Kingham APD. And then shazam, this gorgeous new cookbook arrived on feeding babies written by blogger Emily Dupuche with the most beautiful moussaka recipe for mini me’s. So enjoy this foodie Friday recipe and your chance to win a copy of this stunning guide for parents who want healthy kids in the kitchen.
I love that Food Babies Love has straightforward guidelines and advises parents to check with a health professional on the timing, introduction of solids and any special needs like allergy. But most of all I love the divine ideas on serving up baby and family meals with kid appeal. There are the crowd pleasers from Bolognaise for Little People to Multigrain Chicken Bites but loads of healthy traditional meals adapted here and there for younger palates and development. Feeding your baby these adapted recipes is the best way to ensure they will be ready for family meals from the age of 12months. And you’ll be back cooking one meal for everyone.
Just like this stunning Moussaka or Greek Lamb Casserole above. We are very lucky to have the full recipe to download and print here: Greek Lamb Casserole – Food Babies Love. Huge thanks to Emily for sharing with us! And feel free to share with family or friends looking for inspiration.
