Scoop Summer Saver
We’ve teamed up with Ocean Spray, who have been a phenomenal Scoop Supporter this year, to come up with this go-to refreshing drink when iced water just won’t cut it. Sip it beach side or serve it up cocktail style at your par-tay. Thanks to Ocean Spray for helping us to grow the Sub of the Month mentoring program and credible nutrition information.
Serves 1 – scale up recipe to make a party jug
¼ lime, sliced into wedges
3 Fresh garden mint leaves
6 drops Angostura Bitters
2tbs lemon juice
1tbs lime juice
¾ cup crushed ice
100mL Ocean Spray® Cranberry Light™ – see note
200mL soda / seltzer or sparkling mineral water
Method
Muddle lime wedges, mint leaves and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add lemon, lime and cranberry juice. Shake, rattle and you’re ready to roll. Pour over crushed ice into a tall glass or super sweet Mason jar.
Note: Ocean Spray® Cranberry Light™ is sweetened with sucralose. You can switch to Ocean Spray® Cranberry Classic™ if you prefer at 207kJ/49cal per 100mL. A shot of white rum or tequila turns this into a cocktail crowd pleaser, add 280kJ/66cal per 30mL.

Eat, drink and be merry
We thought long and hard this year before sending our Christmas e-Card and in the end convinced my mum, known to all in the family as Gran, that sharing was caring. And social media was the way to preserve old traditions. So she gave in and let us share her Night Before Christmas Perfect Pudding Recipe – this has been in my family for generations and is perfect for busy mum’s or dad’s of today that are too freakin’ busy. You can make it on Christmas eve or during the week before the big day. Here’s your copy of our card below. We’ve donated the dollars that would have been spent on a snail mailout to World Vision Australia.
Get creative with the dried fruit and even throw in a Craisins® or two.
We’d love to hear what you’re cooking up this Christmas? Or just hear what you’re thankful for? Or what you like about Scoop Nutrition? A quick comment below means the world to us. Finally, don’t forget to check out our Gift Guide post for healthy inspiration.
